Welcome to Scriptation’s Markup Madness tournament! The ONLY March tournament bracket for script annotation, editing, and rehearsing is making it’s debut in 2025. Scriptation’s top 16 features have been ranked and seeded by our illustrious tournament committee, and will now compete for the coveted title of Scriptation’s MOST POPULAR FEATURE!!!
Who decides the winners? Why our amazing users, of course! Get ready to vote on first round matchups via Scriptation’s Instagram starting the week of March 24th.
Now let’s preview the four regions and break down the feature matchups:
GOLDENROD REGION
The Goldenrod region sees our number 1 seed, Note Transfer, take on the upstart 16 seed, Review Deleted Annotations.
This is going to be a tough matchup for Review Deleted Annotations — some would say it wouldn’t exist without Note Transfer, some would say Note Transfer walked so RDA could run.
The other side of the bracket sees 8 seed Breakdown Summary battle 9 seed Element Report. It’s really anyone’s game when these two Scriptation features walk into a PDF, I don’t have to tell you. But I just did.
BUFF REGION
The Buff region matchups showcase some of Scriptation’s go-to features in exciting first round matchups.
The opening bout sees trusty 4 seed Layers up against an exciting newer feature, 13 seeded Record Self Tapes. Different uses for different users, but are they so different? You can throw out the records when these features line up across from one another.
The winner of that barn-burner battles the winner of the 6-11 matchup with Facing Pages (6) taking on Saved Annotations (11). You can throw out the records when… you get it. These two Industry Pro features will get support from the loyal Scriptation subscribers, but the winner could face trouble in later rounds for those who haven’t taken advantage of their free trials.
SALMON REGION
The Salmon region might just be the toughest battles in all of the Markup Madness opening round.
The heavily favored 2 seed, Tagging, will take on the versatile 15 seed, Bookmarks. Scriptation experts have tagged (pun intended) this one as an official UPSET WATCH.
The winner survives and advances to engage with the winner of 7 seed Script Compare VS. 10 seeded Sides. Sides hasn’t been used by every Scriptation user, but it has it’s favorites and many say it’s a feature on the rise. Script Compare saves precious time, though, and won’t go down without a fight.
CHERRY REGION
The first round wraps up with the Cherry region, with what experts have pegged as some of the toughest matchups in all of Markup Madness 2025.
The big gun 3 seed, Auto Highlight, will engage with an exciting newer feature, the 13 seed Rehearsal Mode. Both can be used by actors, but have other departments saving time and paper with their versatility. You never know what can happen when two titans of Scriptation square off.
That victor gets the reward of facing off against the better side of 5-seeded Lining VS. 12 seed Cloud Syncing. Lining has a VERY loyal fanbase and is going to be hard to beat in any round, but Cloud Syncing didn’t come this far to only come this far. We’ll be watching this one very closely.
These 16 Scriptation features walked in to Markup Madness ready for anything; now their fate is in the hands of you, dear users. Vote often, vote passionately, and stay tuned to see just what Feature will be crowned SCRIPTATION’S MARKUP MADNESS CHAMPION!!!
