ONLINE PRIVACY POLICY AGREEMENT

This Privacy Policy shall apply to the applications published in the Microsoft Store and Apple App Store by Scriptation LLC and that are accessible from mobile devices and personal computers (the “App“), and the use of the websites controlled by Scriptation LLC in general (the “Website“; App, and Website together the “Services“).
1. GENERAL
Regarding the Services: Scriptation LLC (“Scriptation“, “we“, “us” or “our“) is the Data Controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR“).
This privacy policy shall inform you on how we collect, process and use (“Use“) personal data in connection with the Services.
2. DATA WE COLLECT, PROCESS AND USE
2.1 In general, you can use the Services without providing any personal information such as e.g. your name, email address, postal address, telephone number, financial information (all such information concerning the personal or material circumstances of an identified or identifiable individual data subject together “Personal Data“), subject to the account creation requirement for certain features as described in Section 2.1.2 below. Therefore, if you do not provide us directly with Personal Data in another way or actively consent to the Use by us of certain Personal Data, we, in general, do not Use your data with the exception of the following:
2.1.1 Regarding the Website: when you visit the Website, your browser transfers certain data so that it can access the Website, namely:
- the IP address
- the date and time of the request
- the browser type
- the operating system
- the language and version of the browser software.
Additionally, we use cookies, pixels, and similar tracking technologies to collect information about user interactions with the website. This data is used solely for internal purposes such as improving website functionality, analyzing usage trends, and enhancing user experience. We do not sell this information. We may make it available to service providers that help us operate, analyze, improve, and secure the Website as described in this Privacy Policy.
2.1.2 Regarding the App: when you use the App, we collect data on your usage of the App, such as the periods of time in which you use the App and the type of device you use (e.g. iPhone, iPad), actions you perform, features you interact with, and links you follow out of the App. We use this information to collect general analytical information on how the App is being used to improve the App, offer new features, and to show you content that is relevant to you.
To use certain features of the App, including AI Voices, you must create a Scriptation account. Account creation is performed exclusively through Sign in with Apple. When you sign in with Apple, we receive: (i) a unique, opaque user identifier provided by Apple, and (ii) an email address, which may be your real email address or a private relay email address provided by Apple, depending on your selection. We may also receive your name if you choose to share it. We use this information to create and authenticate your Scriptation account, to associate subscription entitlements with your account, to track your usage allowance for metered, AI-powered, or usage-limited features, and to provide customer support, troubleshoot issues, prevent fraud or misuse, and manage feature access.
If you are using the App through an Enterprise account, we also collect your name and your email address. We use the Personal Data described in this section for the purposes stated above and, where applicable, the additional purposes set forth in Sections 2.4 through 2.6 below.
2.1.3 Regarding email: we save a record of communication including attachments and information you voluntarily decide to share with us for troubleshooting purposes whenever you communicate with our support team.
2.1.4 Email messages sent by us via third-party services like EmailOctopus or Crisp may contain tracking pixels which help us collect statistics on delivery and opening rates of our correspondence. These pixels do not provide us with any additional personal data about you or your behavior online. You can disable image rendering in your email client which will deactivate this feature, however you will be unable to see any images within other received emails.
The legal basis for the processing of the data described in the preceding subsections (to the extent such data is to be considered Personal Data) is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interests). Specifically: in subsection 2.1.1, the legitimate interest is that without such data the Website cannot be accessed by our customers and other users; in subsection 2.1.2, the legitimate interest is our ongoing improvement of the App and the provision of account-based features such as AI Voices; in subsection 2.1.3, the legitimate interest is the need to respond to support requests you have initiated; and in subsection 2.1.4, the legitimate interest is measuring the effectiveness of our communications. The legal basis for the processing of account data described in subsection 2.1.2 is additionally Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. b GDPR (performance of contract), because account creation is required to access subscribed features.
If you opt in to receive Scriptation marketing emails, newsletters, product updates, offers, surveys, or similar communications, we may use your name, email address, subscription status, and opt-in preference to send those communications. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting us. We may still send transactional, account, billing, security, service, or support messages where necessary to provide the Services.
The legal basis for marketing and newsletter communications described in the preceding paragraph is your consent where required by applicable law, and otherwise our legitimate interest in communicating with users and customers about Scriptation products and services, subject to your right to opt out at any time.
2.1.5 Cloud Storage Integrations: The App optionally allows you to connect third-party cloud storage services — including Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, Apple iCloud Drive, and Microsoft OneDrive — so you can access and sync your script files. Connecting a service is initiated by you, performed through the provider’s own authentication flow, and can be disconnected at any time in the App’s settings or from your provider’s account.
When connected, we receive only the file and folder data necessary to provide the requested functionality (such as displaying your files, opening them in the App, and saving annotations back to your account). We do not transfer files retrieved from your connected accounts to any third party except as necessary to provide a feature you have specifically initiated.
Our access to and use of information received from Google APIs (including Google Drive) adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements: Google user data is used only to provide or improve user-facing features that are prominent in the App, is not transferred to third parties except as necessary to provide those features or for security or legal purposes, is not used for advertising, and is not read by humans except with your explicit consent or as required by law. The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. b GDPR (performance of contract), as access to your connected cloud storage is required to provide the file synchronization feature you have initiated.
2.2 Only in cases in which you have given us prior consent we also use your Personal Data for other purposes but only to the extent needed in each specific case. The legal basis for the processing of the data described in this section 2.2 is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. a GDPR (consent).
2.3 We may disclose Personal Data to third parties where such disclosure is required by law (for example, upon request of a court or of law enforcement authorities). The legal basis for the processing of the data described in this section 2.3 is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. c GDPR (legal obligation).
2.4 If a third party has credible evidence, as determined by us in our discretion, that you may be using the Services for tortious or illegal (such as leaking scripts or breaching copyright), and provides this evidence to us, we may share your Personal Data with the proper governmental authorities to aid the investigation. If your access to the App is provided by your employer or another party with whom we have a written agreement, we may provide the Personal Data to them necessary to investigate a claim by them that you are using the Services for tortious or illegal activities.
2.5 If we believe you have breached any of your responsibilities under our Terms of Service, or any other agreement between you and us, we may use the Personal Data we’ve collected to resolve the dispute or take necessary legal action to protect ourselves and our affiliates. If you dispute a charge, or a payment is suspected to be fraudulent, we may share information about your purchase, your acceptance of our Terms of Service, your account and usage activity, and our communications with you with our payment processors and your card issuer to respond to the dispute or prevent fraud. The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interests).
2.6 We may also Use certain data as set forth in section 3 below.
3. SCRIPTATION’S COOKIES POLICY
3.1 Scriptation’s websites use cookies to personalize your experience on our sites. Cookies tell us which parts of our websites people have visited, help us measure the performance of ads, and give us insights into user behavior so we can improve our communications and products.
You can disable cookies anytime in your web browser. Here is how it works in Google Chrome and Safari browsers:
Chrome:
- Go to the Settings in the Chrome menu (Chrome toolbar).
- Scroll down the page and click Advanced.
- In the “Privacy” section, click the Content settings.
- Click “Cookies” and change anything desired.
Safari:
- Go to Preferences.
- Click the Privacy tab.
- Choose to Block all cookies.

Scriptation’s first-party cookies are used to support and improve the Website and are not intended to identify you personally. Third-party analytics tools may use cookies or similar technologies as described below.
When you disable cookies, our website can no longer provide you with the best user experience and you miss the opportunity to get more personalized information, such as displaying information in your language or displaying prices in your currency.
In addition to cookies, we use pixels and other tracking technologies to better understand how users interact with our website. The data collected from these technologies is used for internal analytics and performance improvements. We do not sell this information. We may make it available to service providers that help us operate, analyze, improve, and secure the Website as described in this Privacy Policy.
COOKIES: USE OF (FURTHER ANALYZING) TOOLS
Cookies are stored on your computer when using the Website. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your hard disk of the computer with which you visit a website and which are allocated to your browser and through which certain information is submitted to the cookies user that sets the cookie (in this case us). Cookies serve to make the website offering more user-friendly and effective overall.
The Website uses cookies to the following extent:
- Transient / Session cookies
- Persistent / Setting cookies
- Analysis cookies
Transient cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser. This includes in particular the session cookies. These store a so-called session ID, which identify user session in the browser. Session cookies are deleted when you log out or close your browser.
Persistent cookies help the Website remember your information and settings when you visit them in the future. They are automatically deleted after a specified period, which may differ depending on the cookie.
We also use cookies on our website which enable an analysis of the user’s surfing behavior.
3.2 The Website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help analyze how you use the Website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the Website will normally be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.
The IP address that your browser transfers within the scope of Google Analytics will not be associated with any other data held by Google.
You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings in your browser, however please note that if you do so you may not be able to use all functions of the Website. You can also opt-out from the storage by Google of the data that is created by the cookie and is related to the use of the Website (including your IP address) and the processing of such data by Google by downloading and installing the Google Analytics opt-out Browser add-on available under https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.
Where cookie consent controls are enabled for your location, you can manage or withdraw consent to Statistics and Marketing cookies using the Cookie Preferences button on the Website. Your choices apply to that browser and device. See our Cookie Policy for service and cookie details.
We use advertising pixels from Meta (Facebook), X, TikTok, and Reddit to measure visits and advertising conversions. These providers may receive page and interaction data, browser/device information, and cookie or advertising identifiers. Where consent is required, these pixels are controlled by the Marketing category.

3.3 Our Apps use the Meta SDK of Meta Platforms, Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park (https://developers.facebook.com/docs/ios, https://developers.facebook.com/policy) to analyze sources of app installations and how you use the App. Meta SDK and Analytics is a service which helps us improve our Services by better understanding general app usage patterns.
3.4 If you decide to deactivate (some of) the cookies and tools described above, please note that certain features and functionalities of the Services might not work or might not be accessible to you.
3.5 The legal basis for the processing of the data described in Sections 3.1 through 3.4 (to the extent such data is to be considered Personal Data) is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interests; the legitimate interests to Use such data is that we use and analyze the respective data to improve our Services, such as by gaining a better understanding of your interests and requirements regarding our Services and to help personalize your user experience).
3.6 Advertising Partner (Playwire)
All or partial advertising on this Website or App is managed by Playwire LLC. If Playwire publisher advertising services are used, Playwire LLC may collect and use certain aggregated and anonymized data for advertising purposes. 4. TECHNICAL IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SERVICES BY SUBCONTRACTORS
We partly use service providers who process Personal Data on our behalf to operate, support, analyze, improve, and market the Services, manage subscriptions and customer relationships, provide customer support, and support business-development activities. Certain features of the App and Website involve transmitting content, account, payment, or order data to third-party providers, as described in Sections 4.1 through 4.7 below. Additionally, data collected via cookies and tracking technologies may be processed by our subcontractors for internal analytics purposes, such as understanding user behavior and improving website functionality. Third-party service providers are obligated to process the data according to our instructions where they act as processors.
The legal basis for the data processing described in this Section 4 is, depending on the context, Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. b GDPR (performance of contract and pre-contractual measures) where processing is necessary to provide the Services, administer subscriptions, or provide requested features; Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interests) where processing supports analytics, support, customer relationship management, fraud prevention, business-development, relevant communications, or improvement of the Services; Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. a GDPR (consent) where consent is required for marketing communications; and Art. 28 GDPR where service providers process Personal Data on our behalf.
4.1 Account Infrastructure (Firebase)
Scriptation accounts and associated data are hosted on Google Firebase, a service provided by Google LLC. Specifically, we use Firebase Authentication to manage account sessions, Cloud Firestore to store account-level data (including your Apple-provided identifier, email, subscription state, and usage metrics for AI-powered or usage-limited features), and Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose technical issues. Firebase processes this data on servers operated by Google, primarily located in the United States. Additionally, we use Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver push notifications when you have enabled them in your device settings; this involves processing of a device-specific push notification token issued by Apple.
4.2 AI-Powered Features
The App offers or may offer optional AI-powered features, such as voice generation, script analysis, script comparison, summarization, tagging, chat, and other tools that help process, understand, organize, or generate information based on script-related content.
When you choose to use an AI-powered feature, Scriptation may process and transmit the information needed to provide that feature to one or more AI service providers or other processors acting on our behalf. This information may include script text, revised script text, annotations, document excerpts, prompts, questions, chat history, tags, metadata, generated outputs, usage metadata, and related account or subscription information.
We use this information to provide the AI-powered feature you request; generate voice playback, analyses, summaries, tags, chat responses, comparisons, reports, or other outputs; administer usage limits and subscription entitlements; provide support; troubleshoot issues; maintain security; and prevent fraud, abuse, or misuse.
We do not use your script documents, annotations, prompts, chats, or AI outputs for marketing. Unless you separately opt in or we clearly notify you and obtain any required consent, we do not use your script documents, annotations, prompts, chats, or AI outputs to train AI models, and we require AI service providers acting on our behalf not to use that content to train their models.
If you do not wish your script content, prompts, chat content, or related materials to be processed by AI service providers, do not use AI-powered features. Other non-AI features of the App remain available.
4.3 International Data Transfers
Some service providers described in this Section 4, including Firebase, AI service providers, RevenueCat, Stripe, PayPal, Printful, and customer relationship management, marketing, support, or business-development tools, may process Personal Data in the United States or other countries outside your country of residence. Where required by applicable law, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers, including Standard Contractual Clauses, participation in applicable data privacy frameworks, or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
4.4 Subscription Management (RevenueCat)
Subscription transactions, entitlement state, and certain customer attributes are managed using RevenueCat, a service provided by RevenueCat, Inc. When you purchase, renew, cancel, restore, or otherwise interact with a subscription through the App, RevenueCat may process transaction and subscription information provided by Apple or another applicable app store or payment platform, such as transaction identifier, subscription product, purchase date, renewal status, expiration date, cancellation status, refund status, store country, and related subscription events.
We may also provide RevenueCat with limited account-level information or customer attributes, such as a Scriptation-managed user identifier, email address, display name, subscription status, entitlement status, app version, platform, newsletter opt-in status, usage allowance, and feature access. We use RevenueCat to verify entitlements, prevent fraud, provide subscription analytics, administer paid features, support customers, and send communications only where permitted by your choices and applicable law.
RevenueCat processes this data on our behalf. We do not use RevenueCat to access your script documents, annotations, or creative content. For more information, see RevenueCat’s privacy policy.
4.5 Customer Relationship Management, Marketing, Support, and Business-Development Tools
We may use customer relationship management, marketing, support, and business-development tools to manage Scriptation contacts, customer relationships, marketing preferences, subscriptions, support requests, production-related business opportunities, and relevant communications about Scriptation products and services.
These tools may process limited contact and account information, such as name, email address, customer or subscription status, opt-in status, Scriptation-managed identifiers, and related business-contact information. These tools may also help us understand relevant business or production information available from third-party industry sources.
We do not use these tools to access your script documents, annotations, or creative content, and we do not identify you as a Scriptation user to a production, studio, employer, or other third party without your permission.
4.6 Payments (Stripe and PayPal)
When you pay Scriptation online by card, Apple Pay, or PayPal (for example, for an Industry Pro or AI subscription on the web, a Team or Studio license, or a Scriptation Showcase entry), your payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. or PayPal, Inc. They collect your payment details, billing email, billing details such as country and postal code, and device and IP information to process payments, prevent fraud, and, where applicable, calculate taxes. We do not receive or store your full card number. Industry Pro and AI subscriptions purchased on the web are also managed by RevenueCat as described in Section 4.4, including sending receipts and renewal notices and providing the page where you can manage or cancel your subscription. We keep records of your orders, such as name, email, billing details, products purchased, license keys, invoices, and payment status, to provide and support your purchase, meet tax and accounting obligations, and respond to payment disputes. 4.7 Merchandise Purchases
This Privacy Policy also applies to our merchandise store at scriptation.network.
When you purchase merchandise, we collect your name, email address, billing and shipping addresses, phone number where requested, purchased items, payment status, and related order and support information. We use this information to process payments, fulfill and deliver orders, provide order updates, handle returns and refunds, prevent fraud, and meet accounting and legal obligations.
Our store uses WooCommerce. We share the information necessary to produce and deliver your order with Printful and the shipping providers involved in fulfillment. Payments are processed through PayPal, which receives the information needed to process and support your payment. Hosting, security, backup, and email service providers may also process information necessary to operate the store. Authorized Scriptation personnel can access order information to fulfill purchases and provide support.
The store uses cookies and similar technologies to maintain shopping carts and checkout sessions. Other website tracking practices are described in Section 3.
Where GDPR applies, processing necessary to fulfill purchases is based on performance of a contract; required accounting records on legal obligations; and proportionate fraud prevention and security on legitimate interests. Consent is obtained where required.
Retention, international transfers, and your privacy rights are governed by Sections 4.3, 5, and 6. For merchandise questions, contact [email protected].
5. DURATION OF STORAGE OF PERSONAL DATA
Unless no shorter storage period is indicated in this privacy policy, we, in general, store Personal Data as long (i) as required for the provision of the Services to you, and/or (ii) as it is necessary with regard to the contractual relationship with you, thereafter only if and to the extent that we are obliged to do so by mandatory statutory retention obligations. If we no longer require the respective Personal Data for the purposes described above, such Personal Data will only be stored during the respective legal retention period and not processed for other purposes.
6. YOUR RIGHTS
You have the right to request information from us at any time about your Personal Data stored by us. If the legal requirements are met, you also have rights vis-à-vis us to request from us access to and rectification or erasure or restriction of processing concerning your Personal Data or to object the processing of your Personal Data as well as the right to receive your Personal Data provided to us in a structured, established and machine-readable format from us (you can transfer this data to other parties or have it transferred; data portability).
If you have given your consent to the use of personal data, you can revoke such consent at any time (for the future).
If you believe that the processing of your Personal Data by us is in breach of the applicable data protection laws, you can issue a complaint with the competent supervisory authority for data protection.
Your rights to access, modify, or request deletion of personal data also extend to any data collected through cookies, pixels, and similar tracking technologies. If you wish to exercise these rights, please contact us at privacy-at-scriptation-dot-com.
7. CHILDREN AND TEEN USERS
Scriptation is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. You must be at least 13 to use the Services. Users aged 13–17 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian, and additional age or parental-consent requirements may apply where they live.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will stop further collection and use, disable the associated account where applicable, and take reasonable steps to delete the information.

KEEPING YOUR PERSONAL DATA SECURE
We have taken extensive technical and operational precautions to protect the Personal Data retained by us against unauthorized access and misuse. Our security procedures are revised regularly and adapted to reflect technological progress.
