Mobile-Optimized Viewing: Cast and crew can access call sheets on any device, with all critical information at their fingertips (like where to park)

Integrated Production Reports: Beyond call sheets, SetHero handles production reports and other essential production paperwork (helping keep everything in one tablet, instead of endless binders)

Just add Scriptation…

The Scriptation & SetHero integration makes it easy to transfer your detailed Scriptation script breakdown data directly to SetHero’s call sheet system. You’ll begin by using Scriptation’s Tagging features for the fast, efficient way to breakdown scripts for production:

The Scriptation & Set Hero Integration works in two simple steps:

1) Export Your Scene Data from Scriptation

Once you’re in Tagging mode, open your script project in Scriptation and click the “Tag” icon in the top header bar. Select the report icon (stack of papers) and choose “SetHero” from export options. Name and save the JSON file to your device.

2) Import the JSON File into SetHero

Open SetHero, and navigate to the Scenes tab. Click “Import Scenes” and select “Scriptation”. Upload the JSON file and review the import preview screen. Confirm or edit character ID numbers (SetHero auto-assigns these for organization). Click “Approve and Import” to complete the process.

This integration works fast and efficiently, giving you time to focus on the day of shooting instead of worrying about how you’ll report it. In just a few steps, your Scriptation breakdown will be ready in SetHero, and you can build industry-standard call sheets; adding crew information, call times, and production-specific details to your imported scene data.

SCRIPTATION & SET HERO INTEGRATION FAQ

Do I need both Scriptation and SetHero accounts to use this integration?

Yes, you need active accounts on both platforms to use the Scriptation & SetHero integration features, but lucky for you both apps offer free trials to preview the greatness that lies ahead.

Can I import partial breakdowns from Scriptation to SetHero?

Yes, you can edit the JSON file to include only specific scenes, or simply delete unwanted scenes in SetHero after importing. Perfect for reshoots and pickups!

What happens if I update my script in Scriptation?

New script? New breakdown. You’ll need to export the updated breakdown and re-import it into SetHero. Changes don’t sync automatically, giving you control over when to update your call sheets.

Will the integration transfer my custom elements from Scriptation?

Yes, mostly; we never know what custom stamps or images users may come up with, so we can’t guarantee they’ll always seamlessly transfer over. But, any elements or custom notes in Scriptation that don’t map directly to SetHero fields will be added to the “Notes” section for that scene within SetHero, ensuring no information is lost.

Is there a limit to how much data I can transfer between platforms?

No, there’s no limit! Whether you’re working on a short film or a massive feature production, the integration handles projects of any scope and size.

Can I try the integration before committing to both platforms?

Yes, as mentioned above, both Scriptation and SetHero offer free trials to explore their features, including the integration workflow.

What types of productions is this best for?

The Scriptation and SetHero integration is ideal for any production requiring detailed script analysis — features, TV, shorts, commercials, etc. The more complex your script breakdown, the more this integration streamlines your workflow and saves you time!
